KEF Muon launch

As a part of a collaboration with Ross Lovegrove, one of the world's foremost industrial designers, and KEF, one of the world's most technologically innovative high-end audio manufacturers, Moving Brands were asked to create an audio responsive installation for the launch of the Muon speakers at Salone del Mobile 2007.Together with David Eveleigh-Evans and Chris O'Shea I helped with the direction & creation of the design aesthetic and software solution for the 5 x 10 meters LED floor with audio-responsive visuals supporting the fluid and organic design language of the speakers.

Approach

Below are a number of my old digital sketches & prototypes from 2003 upon which the main design concept of the installation directly built on: using light as medium to create contour slices of a larger incomprehensible animated 4D volumetric structure.

NodeSpace (2003)
Prototype of a particle based synthesizer

Glow (2003)
Experimental kinetic drawing tool using animated metablob shapes
